Is there a monthly charge for a doorbell camera?
There is no monthly fee to enjoy the basic features of Roku video doorbells. However, if you’d like to unlock advanced features such as cloud recording and storage, intelligent detection, and the ability to filter and view events by type, a subscription is required.

Do doorbell cameras require Wi-Fi®?
A Wi-Fi® connection is needed to operate all Roku Smart Home devices. Roku Video Doorbell & Chime operates on a 2.4GHz network, so if you have both a 5GHz and 2.4GHz connection, make sure to connect to your 2.4GHz network during setup. Roku Wire-free Video Doorbell & Chime has dual-band Wi-Fi® connection for lightning-fast notifications, so it can be set up on a 5GHz network.
Do doorbell cameras record all the time?
Doorbell cameras do not record all the time. That would be quite a lot of footage to sort through! Roku video doorbells are triggered by motion or sound to start recording an event, which you can view in real time in the Roku Smart Home mobile app or on your Roku TV™ or Player. With a Roku Smart Home Subscription, these motion-triggered recordings are stored in the cloud for up to 14 days.
